It sounds like when NetInsight was originally installed the security model was not setup, likely due to security requirements during the setup.
If a security model has since been deployed you can configure all new profiles to have "no access" upon creation.
This is done by logging into NetInsight with administrator rights and going into the application administrator screen (click on the padlock).
Once in the admin screen go to the upper right corner and change the drop down 'Edit Administrative Options' to 'Edit Default Web Server Options'. This section is where all predefined profile config rules live, such as profile security.
As per usual, go to Interface -> Profile Defaults and change 'Default role:' from (None) to (No Access) then save the change.
All new profiles created, going forward, will have this applied automatically. Any existing profiles will need to have this configuration change applied manually.
Hello, Wendy. I'm using Nettracker to track campaigns for marketing. I have a question though. I want to use page tags to track my campaigns in Nettracker. Do I just put the tag in every page or just the pages related to a specific campaign? What do I need to do to be sure Nettracker tracks the tags? Do I track it with a filter on the invisible .jog I'm using in the tag? Thanks!
Originally used NetInsight when it was Sane Solutions NetTracker back in 99-00. Stopped using it around 2002 then about 2 years ago started using it on a couple of smaller projects. About to fully kick off a hand full of projects within the next 3-6 months.
Hi Wendy! Mainly - for Content Engagement - that's my new project here at Vance Publishing. Would be happy if you could comment on the framework I'm trying to build. :) If you'd like I can send you more info...
What about you - how do you use Unica?
Excellent. We are rapidly moving towards an initiative which does involve creating a WA datamart using NI as one of the primary sources of data. I would certainly require tips from you in this context as it matures.
We are using NetInsight as our primary Web Analytics tool under one of our Line of business. We are on 7.4 and using page tagging as tracking methodology. Under WA maturity model I would say our NI implementation has reached Level 2 i.e. behaviour optimization. We are moving towards Level 3 which is e-Marketing.
I have been nagging David for some weeks about having a user group where we could share our experiences with this tool and hear back from other users to widen our horizons about how else this tools could be used.. best practice, user segmentation, tagging methodologies etc.
