We seem to have problems extracting parameters from the %REQUEST% item in the logfile.

Definition of  LogFile:

%CUSTOMDATE Y-M-D H:MI:S%|
%HOST%|
%USERNAME%|
%COOKIE%|
%GWSPRODUCT%|
%REQUEST%

Sample LogFile entry:

2014-10-20 17:46:13|
10.3.1.65|
2110809053|
jsessionid=5623B1C0178F60367D6E491FBBD1B72A.gws-str1|
BRA|
GET /Signature_Folder/SignatureOverview/SignatureResult?gwstransaction=domestic&gwsamount=-25.00&gwscurrency=CZK&gwstype=transaction HTTP/1.0|

Field Parameters is defined like this:

<parameter type="field" case="mixed" store="true" arrayparam="false" coltitle="GWS-PRODUCT" displayonbr="true" cgidecode="true" associatewith="visit" parameter="gwsproduct" name="GWSRPRO"/>

Query Parameters are defined like this:

<parameter type="querystring" case="lower" store="true" arrayparam="false"  coltitle="GWS-TYPE" displayonbr="true" cgidecode="true" associatewith="view" parameter="gwstype" name="GWSQTYPE">
                        <member method="contains" option="page">/</member>
</parameter>

With this setup, we do get a report for the field parameters, but  reports for the query parameters 'contain no data'

We tried a similar setup with %SITE%|%PAGE%|%QUERY%, to no avail.

What goes wrong here ?

Thanks for help

Thomas, that's quite curious,

What do you see on a page breakdown report*? If the %REQUEST% block is being parsed correctly I'd expect to see some of the gwsX parameters there.

Anything else of note in the config? Dynamic Pages maybe?

Ahhhh - that'll be it. You can't extract from the querystring if you've moved it all into the Page data (rather than Page Breakdown).

Options:

1. Make some/all pages non-dynamic

2. Rather than a 'querystring' parameter, use a 'page' parameter, where you'll use a regex to extract from the full URL.

3. Something else more obscure and cunning.

Removing

<dynamicpages>
                <member method="starts_with">/</member>
</dynamicpages>

did the trick :)

Thanks so much !

Thomas
